The Healing Journey
βHow will this go?β
Every personβs path is unique, and how our work would look together is yet to be discovered and co-created! Here are some of the possible phases of the process we may go through together. Depending on your needs and goals, we may explore just one or hop around all of these landmarks during our work together.
Finding Steady Ground
βIβm overwhelmed by my feelings.β
Before we can climb a mountain, we have to find our footing. Healing begins with safety. When your emotions feel unpredictable, fast-moving, or overwhelming, it can be difficult to feel safe in your experience. We will work on skills that cultivate stability, so you can feel confident doing work that accesses deeper layers of yourself.
Using principles from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), nervous system education, and the wisdom of mindfulness traditions from around the world, we will work together to give you the tools to face the most challenging parts of your life with resilience and steadiness.
Releasing the Past
βI canβt seem to let go.β
Old wounds and patterns can shape how you feel, relate, and move through life for years. Trauma lives in the body, relationships, and the beliefs we carry about ourselves. I lean on trauma-informed care principles to support you in gently processing what youβve been carrying, so it can begin to loosen its hold on you.
I specialize in forgiveness therapy, which creates the opportunity for you to free yourself from the burdens of resentment and shame. Forgiveness is not something that can be forced; it is a research-backed process of moving through the hurt and impacts of the past and finding wisdom and emotional liberation on the other side.
Healing through Movement
βI have insight about my situation, but Iβm not seeing the changes I want.β
Not all healing happens through words. Your body holds wisdom, memory, and emotionβand learning to listen to it can be profoundly transformative.
Through somatic awareness and movement practices, weβll explore ways to find safety in your body, release stored tension, and reconnect with sensation, intuition, and expression. Symbolic movement can be used to create new patterns in your attachment system and communication, improving your relationships from the inside out. This work supports you in moving out of numbness or disconnection and into a felt sense of aliveness, helping you rebuild a relationship with your body that feels grounded, safe, and empowering.
Coming Home
βI want to truly love myself.β
Itβs easy to lose yourself when youβve had to focus on surviving trauma, relationship difficulties, chronic stress, addiction, and/or mental health challenges. For some people who had difficult childhoods, it can feel like there isnβt even a self to come back to. Rest assured: there is an intrinsic wellness in each of us, a Self full of light and love that no harm can touch.
Perhaps you have struggled with codependency, people-pleasing, or overgiving. Maybe you have coped through the overconsumption of substances, work, or media. Regardless of what you have been through, there is a place within you where you are fully loved. Finding that internal sanctuary involves uncovering your desires, needs, boundaries, interests, passions, and characteristics that make you a beautiful and unique individual. Whether or not you have felt at home before, there is a light always waiting for you to come home to.
Cultivating Healthy Love
βI want to have fulfilling connections.β
According to positive psychology, healthy relationships are the most important predictor of well-being. Our relationships can profoundly impact our mental and physical health, for better or for worse. My greatest passion as a therapist is working with people to heal and strengthen their interpersonal relationships.
I work with intimate partnerships using attachment theory, the Gottman method, non-violent communication, and experiential exercises. I specialize in working with partnerships outside of the box, including kinky and non-monogamous relationships, and I also enjoy working with more traditional religious and/or monogamous couples. Belonging and safety are fundamental human needs, and I am here to help you find strategies for meeting your deepest social needs. No one deserves to feel alone, and I can help you restore connection that will soothe the deepest parts of you.
Forging Your Path
βI am ready to build a life that lights me up.β
As you become more grounded, embodied, and connected to yourself, a natural question emerges: What kind of life do I actually want to live?
This phase is about discovering what an authentic and fulfilling life looks and feels like for youβnot based on othersβ expectations, but on your own values, desires, and truth. Using solution-focused therapy, values exploration, and strengths-based approaches, weβll clarify your direction and support you in taking meaningful steps forward. This is where healing expands into creation, helping you build a life that feels aligned, intentional, and fully your own.
